A RESTORED ANTIQUE 19thC CHAIN FUSÉE ENGLISH DIAL CLOCK - c.1880 [636DC]
Description of the item
A restored antique 19th century single fusée 12" mahogany English dial clock. The 14 1/2" overall diameter mahogany case with case with cast brass bezel faces the original painted dial complete with Roman numerals, and original blued steel hands driven by the English chain fusée movement with shaped shoulders and brass bob pendulum. The movement has been completely stripped cleaned and fusee tension reset. [England c.1882]
The dial is signed and attributed to John Carr Tribe who is known to have worked in Clerkenwell London. - his name appears in the 1882 Post Office Directory of London trade directory in the Clock Makers section at 38 Spencer Street, London.

The case is in good condition, the mechanism has been stripped cleaned serviced and is fully working, the dial face has 3 marks corresponding to the movement mounts historically repaired - supplied with winder.
